English: Brooches from the Penrith Hoard, now in the British Museum. Tag on exhibit states: "The Penrith Hoard, Early 10th Century AD. From Fluskew Pike, Newbiggin, near Penrith, Cumbria. Brooches from a hoard of at least seven silver brooches of Irish Viking type. The two largest were found in 1785 and 1830. The others, found in 1990, show severe damage from poughing.
