Español: Fotogafía del castillo de Chinchilla de Montearagón
Deutsch: Castillo de Chinchilla de Montearagón. Hier wurde nach seiner Verbannung nach Spanien am 27. Mai 1504 der berüchtigte damals 29-jähriger Cesare Borgia (1475/6-1507) ein Jahr in Einzelhaft gefangen gehalten. Dann wurde er ins Castillo de la Mota bei Medina del Campo verlegt. Im Oktober 1506 soll ihm dort mithilfe einer seidenen Schnur eine spektakuläre Flucht aus dem Gefängnisturm gelungen sein. Er flüchtete unerkannt zu seinem Schwager Jean d´Albret, dem König von Navarra, nach Pamplona. Als Soldat im Dienste Navarras geriet der 32-jährige am 11. März 1507 während der Belagerung der Festung Viana in einen Hinterhalt, wurde getötet und ist dort begraben. |
