Object history
Deutsch: Das alte Wappen wurde nach einem Gerichtssiegel von 1716 gestaltet. Es wird als redendes Wappen bezeichnet. Es zeigt in der oberen Hälfte die roten Sparren der Herren von Eppstein, belegt mit einem roten Kurmainzer Rad (Kurfürstentum Mainz) und unten einen rechtsgewendeten Kopf eines Mohren. Am 17. Juli 1967 wurde der Gemeinde Ober-Mörlen im damaligen Landkreis Friedberg ein neuesWappen verliehen. Die Verleihung erfolgte im Zuge der hessischen Wappenreform, in der alle Wappen die typische Schildform erhielten. Hierbei wurden die bereits erwähnten Wappenfiguren beibehalten, der Mohrenkopf wurde aus gestalterischen Gründen verdoppelt und in der oberen rechten und linken Ecke platziert.
