Object history
Deutsch: Die am 1. September 1971 durch Vereinigung von vier Orten gebildete Gemeinde legte ein Wappen fest, dessen Inhalt die territoriale Vergangenheit der Ortsteile anspricht. Dabei beziehen sich die drei „Würzburger Fähnlein" auf die früher zum würzburgischen Amt Grünsfeld zählenden Orte Ober- und Unterwittighausen sowie Vilchband. Poppenhausen gehörte einst zum kurmainzischen Amt Tauberbischofsheim und wird im Wappen durch das Mainzer Rad repräsentiert, das in der Kommunalheraldik öfter siebenspeichig vorkommt. Das Landratsamt Main-Tauber-Kreis hat das Wappen und die Flagge am 10. April 1979 verliehen.
