DescriptionView of the north transept of Westminster Abbey.png
English: The painting of the Westminster Abbey was created during Hoogstraten’s time in London and part of a series of ambitious architectural views. He combines portraits, landscapes, still lives and architectural views in a perspectively correct image of the Abbey – although, the people remain a prop for the church. Every element, from the pattern of the tile-floor, to the detailed scenery behind occlusions like pillars and windows serve to again create the illusion of depth.
