Deutsch: Festtagsseite des Wiener Neustädter Altars im Chor des linken Seitenschiffes des Stephansdoms in der österreichischen Bundeshauptstadt Wien.
Der gotische Flügelaltar wurde von König Friedrich IV. (ab 1452 Kaiser Friedrich III.) gestiftet. Ursprünglich war er wahrscheinlich für das Zisterzienserkloster Viktring (Kärnten) bestimmt, jedoch 1447 wurde er in der Kirche des 1444 gegründeten Zisterzienserklosters Neukloster in Wiener Neustadt als Hochaltar aufgestellt. Nachdem dort 1698/1699 ein barocker Hochaltar aufgestellt wurde, wurde der Flügelaltar hinter diesem im Chorraum aufgestellt. 1884 wurde er vom Wiener Dombauverein gekauft und 1885 im nördlichen Chor (Frauenchor) des Stephansdoms aufgestellt. |
