Dansk: Forelæsningen tager udgangspunkt i et meget omdiskuteret tanke-eksperiment lanceret af filosoffen James Rachels i 1975: er det værre (aktivt) at drukne sin nevø i badekarret for at arve hans formue end (passivt) at lade ham drukne, hvis man ser ham ligge bevidstløs i badekarret? Eksemplet rejser en række generelle spørgsmål om den etiske forskel på handlinger og undladelser og har spillet en stor rolle i diskussionen vedrørende aktiv dødshjælp.
